Yellow Springs, Ohio - April 24, 2024 - Phillip O’Rourke performs with the The World House Choir in their upcoming performance of Rollo Dilworth’s “WEATHER: Stand the Storm” on Friday & Saturday, April 26 & 27 at 7pm at the Antioch Foundry Theater in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Founded in 2012 by the esteemed Dr. Catherine Roma, the World House Choir stands as a testament to the power of music in advocating for peace and justice. Comprising 80-90 citizen singers from diverse backgrounds, the choir's repertoire resonates with the music of global peace and justice movements, encompassing classical, folk, spirituals, and gospel traditions.

“WEATHER: Stand the Storm” is a compelling choral masterpiece, crafted by the internationally renowned composer and conductor Rollo Dilworth. This twenty-minute opus serves as a poignant call to action, urging all to become catalysts for social justice and change.

Central to this historic performance, Phillip O'Rourke will lead the audience in an emotional section of remembrance, speaking the names of those whose lives have been tragically claimed by social injustice. Founded in 2012 by Dr. Catherine Roma, the World House Choir is a diverse, multi-cultural, mixed-voice choir of 60-70 active citizen singers. The choir’s repertoire is drawn from the music of peace and justice struggles worldwide, representing different traditions including classical, global folk music, spirituals, and gospel. Our name is inspired by the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, who wrote,  “We have inherited a large house, a great world house in which we have to learn to live together in peace.”
